MY STORY
It all started with a ham and cheese croissant in Corvallis, Oregon…
Hi, I’m Emily Rose, and my journey to coaching has been anything but linear.
It all started with a ham and cheese croissant in a little bakery in Corvallis, Oregon, when I was 19 years old.
That’s when it hit me—my purpose. I’m here to help create systems that work for all humans, animals, and the planet. Lofty, I know. But I sat there, chewing on that croissant, feeling the weight of this newfound mission. Did I jump into action right away? Not quite. I spent the next few years doing what most 19-year-olds do—working in restaurants, figuring life out, and eventually, having a few more epiphanies.
Fast forward a few years, and I experienced a spiritual awakening—one that quite literally rewired my brain and changed my entire perspective. At 23, I went from atheist to realizing we are all connected, not alone in this world. That moment changed me profoundly, but I didn’t rush to leave the restaurant world just yet. Instead, I continued working as a server (for 12 years total, and yes, I actually loved waitressing), while also becoming a Certified Massage Therapist in California. I opened my own business and began learning more about what makes people tick, heal, and thrive.
During this time, I also traveled the world, living out of a backpack for over two years, exploring different cultures, and getting a deep sense of the world beyond my own experiences. But my purpose? That never left me. It kept nagging at me—until I finally started building something around it.
In 2013, I launched my coaching business. My focus at the time was helping people with spiritual and romantic relationships, and before I knew it, I had a bestselling book based on my coaching program. Hundreds of thousands of people read it, and I knew I was on the right track. But something was missing. I craved a deeper understanding of the human mind, which led me to Harvard, where I pursued a degree in psychology with a focus on the psychology of coaching.
Over the years I scaled my personal-brand-based business with online courses and grew a Facebook group of visionary entrepreneurs. From the outside, things looked great.
But internally, I was burning out.
What I didn’t realize at the time was that for years, I had been living from a core wound. I was so focused on achieving success in business that I’d shut down parts of myself—parts that needed attention, rest, and expression.
So, of course, I hit a wall. Burnout wasn’t new, though; I’d been battling it for years. So much so that I had informally studied and even taught others how to recognize the signs of burnout, mitigate it, or recover if they were already in the thick of it.
But when 2021 hit, I knew I needed to take my own advice.
That year, I made a decision that changed everything. I left behind a 4+ year romantic relationship, the “marriage and kids” trajectory we had set, and our home in Austin. I joined the awesome app TrustedHousesitters, and began kitty and house sitting around the U.S., with occasional trips out of the country.
I knew I had to realign with what I really wanted: travel, freedom, and the space to just be.
I spent the first year winding down my business, shutting off my mastermind group coaching program, and took a sabbatical from everything that felt productive.
For two years, I practiced what I called "intentional pointlessness." I stopped trying to do and focused on simply being. I embraced stillness and anti-productivity, letting go of the pressure to always be achieving.
I spent those years writing, creating art, dancing, studying relationships, and healing. I communed with some of the most incredible community Austin has to offer, had many-a mind-expanding experience, and shed my prior identity as I knew it.
These years were a time of deep reflection, unleashed expression, and complete realignment with a more unadulterated version of myself. I finally figured out how to stop chasing success as defined by everyone else, and start aligning with what truly matters to me.
Now, as I return to the coaching profession and my apparent obsession with business and psychology (I just can’t seem to stay away), I’m coming at it from a completely different direction.
Instead of focusing on the personal-brand strategy that demands a constant social media presence, I’m working primarily as an executive coach, focusing on leadership teams and individuals at startups.
I’m loving immersing myself in young startups, delivering impactful team trainings, team workshops, leadership weekend immersions, and one-on-one coaching to the individuals in the company.
My coaching differs from others in that it’s not about quick fixes or superficial solutions. I focus on helping leaders align their personal and professional goals to create sustainable success without burnout.
Whether you’re scaling a startup, navigating team dynamics, or just trying to stay sane while leading, I help you create systems that work for your business and your life.
My clients have seen real, tangible results, from scaling their companies to launching new initiatives that align with their values. I’m also open to working with independent clients when the fit feels right.

I am a Certified Professional Coach with the Certified Life Coach Institute, a Performance Consultant with the Entrepreneurs Institute, and I’m currently completing credentials with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the Professional Association for ADHD Coaches (PAAC), and ADHD and executive coaching certifications with MentorCoach.
My upcoming credentials will further support the work I’m doing with my clients, ensuring they receive the highest level of coaching, consulting, and mentorship.
As you can probably tell by now, I’m all about real, human connection, and creating systems that work for you, your business, and your life.
